Windsor High School Girls Basketball

The Windsor High School girls' basketball team, known as the Wizards, had an impressive 2024-2025 season under the leadership of Head Coach Karin Nicholls. They achieved an outstanding overall record of 21-5 and dominated the 6A/5A/4A Northern Conference with a perfect 12-0 league record. Their season featured significant victories, including a commanding 63-27 win over Severance High School in the Class 5A playoffs, propelling them into the Sweet 16. In the subsequent round, they continued their dominant performance by defeating Falcon High School 60-26, securing their place in the Great 8. Despite their strong efforts, the Wizards concluded their playoff run with a 53-43 loss to Mullen High School in the quarterfinals. The team's consistent performance and dedication continue to uphold Windsor High School's reputation for athletic excellence.

Girls Basketball Coaches

Karin Nicholls, Varsity Head Coach

Windsor High School Girls Basketball Coach Since 2020
Karin has 34 years of coaching experience at both the Division I and II levels as a head coach. A graduate of Bradley University, she received her degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Psychology. Karin received a Masters in Sports Administration and Management from the University of Illinois. As a player, she was the Gateway Conference Newcomer of the Year in 1987, an All-Gateway Conference Selection in 1987, 1989 and 1990. She received Bradley's Most Valuable Player and Team Captain award in 1989 and 1990. She was Bradley's Athlete of the Year in 1990, and became a Bradley University Hall of Fame Inductee in 1993. Karin was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame class of 2021. Karin is beginning her 4th year at Windsor High School as the Head Girls Basketball Coach. Windsor has reached the State Championship game in all three of her seasons as head coach. Nicholls was the Colorado 4A Coach of The Year in 2022. Nicholls is also the founder and owner of Colorado Soar Basketball. Soar has 12 girl's teams competing at the local, regional, and national levels.

Matt Greenwald, Varsity Assistant Coach

6th year coaching as the varsity assistant.

Coach Greenwald serves as the assistant coach for the Windsor High School girls’ varsity basketball team, bringing both experience and passion to the program. A former University of Colorado men’s basketball player from 2001 to 2003, he continues to share his love of the game through his work with Mountain West Premier on the EYBL circuit.

A true basketball junkie, he also enjoys poker and reading about macroeconomics in his free time. Off the court, he’s a devoted husband to his wife of 18 years, Ashley, and proud father of three daughters—Nola, Lael, and Elan. A humble man of faith, he has built a successful 21-year career as a professional insurance agent while staying deeply involved in both his family and the sport he loves.

Evan Worsley
Varsity Assistant Coach

6th year coaching as the varsity assistant.

Coach Worsley is in his 6th year of assistant coaching duties at the Windsor High School girls varsity program. Worsley has been coaching basketball over 10 years now across all levels of high school and AAU club basketball. He is currently coaching at Hardwood Elite 3SSB program across multiple age ranges on the Adidas circuit out of Greenwood Village. He enjoys coaching, teaching and watching the game with each and every spare moment he has. If he isn’t in the gym, he is likely hunting or spending time with his wife Fawn, and his two daughters Gracie and Haylee whom he also enjoys coaching.

During the day Coach Worsley owns and operates a large electrical contracting business which also calls Windsor home. He is deeply rooted in the community and you will often find him giving back to many local charities and groups he and his wife support mostly centered around the youth in the community they call home. Windsor High School has been very special to Coach Worsley for 6 plus years now, and he is very proud of the school, students, sports, and faculty and of course being a Wizard!
